August
Holy Shirt, it's already August.
I feel like I blinked and this year just slipped right by. August means a lot of things to different people, but it's 2 years after graduating and I STILL find it odd not to be gearing up to head back to classes in a few weeks.
It's nostalgia, and I think a lot of post grads can relate to the feeling. I'm happy to be where I'm at, but I have to admit that I miss the excitement of the prospect of a new semester and seeing my friends again after an exciting (or noneventful) summer away.
Somedays, I find that I'm still searching for a life manual in this odd life I find myself bumbling around in, and other days I feel like I'm checking off all the right boxes for my purpose as I chase my inspirations.
What an in between stage we are in, eh?
One thing that I really enjoy doing on weekends in Houston is exploring local markets. Sundays in Houston present so many options.
One event to go to is the "Flea at Silver Street" at Silver Street Market! I went to one in the spring, and just saw the other day on social media that they are having an upcoming "back to school flea" event on Sat, Aug 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM and Sun, Aug 26, 2018 at 5:00 PM.
They had everything from boutique style jewelry, handcrafted items, clothing from other countries, vintage pieces, candles (including an EXACT cheaper dupe for my all time favorite candle from Anthropologie), local fresh pressed coffee, beer and pastries.
Another honorable mention is the Blue Field Street Market in downtown Houston, which has events every weekend including free yoga and live music. If you have a chance to drop by either events and live in Houston, check it out!

I'd love to connect! If you're local to Houston, let's have a meetup. If not... let's collab!
